Website Disclaimer
Effective Date: August 01, 2026
Last Updated: August 01, 2026
This Website Disclaimer and Terms of Use applies to the website operated by In Situ Counseling & Coaching, LLC (“In Situ,” “the practice,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including its webpages, blog posts, downloadable resources, contact features, educational materials, coaching information, scheduling links, and other website content.
1. Educational and Informational Purposes Only
Website content is provided for general educational and informational purposes only. It is not individualized mental-health advice, psychotherapy, diagnosis, treatment, medical advice, medication advice, legal advice, financial advice, or a substitute for evaluation or services from a qualified professional who has considered your specific circumstances.
Do not use website content to diagnose yourself or another person, make medication decisions, delay or discontinue medical or mental-health treatment, or determine what level of care is appropriate in an urgent or high-risk situation.
2. No Therapist-Client or Coaching Relationship Created by Website Use
Visiting this website, reading content, submitting a contact form, sending an email, leaving a voicemail, requesting information, or scheduling or requesting a consultation does not by itself create a therapist-client relationship, a coaching relationship, or any other professional relationship with In Situ or Ron Henson, LCPC.
A professional service relationship begins only after the practice has agreed to provide the applicable service and the required intake, consent, service agreement, and other onboarding requirements have been completed. The practice may decline a request for services or determine that a requested service is outside its scope, availability, licensure, or clinical appropriateness.
Even when no professional relationship has been established, information you submit may still be subject to privacy or security obligations under applicable law. See the Website Privacy Policy and, when applicable, the Notice of Privacy Practices.
3. No Emergency or Crisis Response
In Situ is not an emergency department, crisis center, or continuously monitored crisis-response service. Website forms, email, voicemail, social-media messages, and ordinary scheduling systems should not be used for emergencies or urgent safety concerns.
If you believe you or another person is in immediate danger or experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. In the United States, you may also call or text 988 for crisis support.
The availability of crisis-resource information on this website does not create a duty for In Situ to monitor website activity or respond to communications in real time.
4. Licensure and Geographic Limitations
Ron Henson is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois. Therapy is provided only when the client is physically located in a jurisdiction where the clinician is legally authorized to practice at the time services are delivered. The availability of this website in another state or country does not represent that therapy may lawfully be provided there.
Coaching may be offered in locations where the requested service can lawfully and appropriately be provided as coaching. Calling a service “coaching” does not permit the practice of psychotherapy, diagnosis, or other regulated clinical services outside the clinician’s lawful scope. If a coaching client's needs become clinical or require a higher level of care, the practice may recommend therapy, crisis services, medical evaluation, or another appropriate referral and may decline or discontinue coaching.
5. Therapy and Coaching Are Different Services
Therapy is a licensed mental-health service and may include assessment, diagnosis when appropriate, treatment planning, clinical interventions, emotional processing, and treatment of mental-health conditions or symptoms.
Coaching is not psychotherapy. Coaching does not include mental-health diagnosis, treatment of a mental disorder, crisis care, or clinical services that require a licensed therapeutic relationship. Coaching should not be used as a substitute for therapy, psychiatric care, medical care, or a higher level of treatment when those services are indicated.
6. No Guarantee of Outcome
Human behavior, mental health, relationships, and personal development are influenced by many factors. In Situ does not guarantee that therapy, coaching, consultations, educational resources, or any particular method or intervention will produce a specific result.
Descriptions of goals, approaches, professional experience, examples, testimonials, client feedback, or commonly reported outcomes are not promises, warranties, or predictions of what any particular person will experience.
7. Testimonials, Examples, and Educational Scenarios
Any testimonial or feedback displayed on the website reflects the experience of the person who provided it and is not a guarantee of another person's outcome. Educational examples, scenarios, and case illustrations may be fictional, generalized, altered, or composite material designed to explain a concept. They should not be interpreted as identifying an actual client unless expressly stated and lawfully authorized.
8. Insurance, Fees, and Financial Information
Information about insurance participation, benefit estimates, fees, deductibles, coinsurance, copayments, reimbursement, HSA or FSA use, and payment options is general information only. Coverage and financial responsibility are determined by the specific health plan, service, provider status, insurer rules, benefit period, and other circumstances.
In Situ cannot guarantee that an insurer or benefit administrator will cover or reimburse a service. Clients are responsible for confirming benefits and understanding their financial obligations through the applicable insurer, Headway, billing platform, or other payer before relying on an estimate.
9. External Links and Third-Party Platforms
The website may link to third-party services such as scheduling platforms, insurance or billing services, directories, maps, social-media platforms, payment services, crisis resources, or other websites. A link is provided for convenience and does not necessarily constitute endorsement.
Third parties control their own services, terms, privacy practices, security, accessibility, content, and availability. In Situ is not responsible for the acts, omissions, content, or data practices of an unrelated third party after you choose to interact with that service.
10. Electronic Communications and Website Forms
Use website forms and ordinary email for basic inquiries and scheduling-related communication. Do not submit unnecessary details about diagnoses, medications, trauma history, safety concerns, or other sensitive clinical information through a general contact field.
Electronic communications involve inherent privacy and security risks. In Situ uses safeguards required by applicable law, but no website, email service, network, or electronic transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure or continuously available.
Submitting information electronically does not guarantee an immediate response. Privacy protections that apply to information received by the practice are described in the Website Privacy Policy and, when the information is protected health information, the Notice of Privacy Practices.
11. Website Accuracy, Availability, and Changes
In Situ makes reasonable efforts to keep website information accurate and useful but does not warrant that every page will always be complete, current, error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or available. Laws, clinical standards, research, insurance participation, fees, scheduling availability, services, and practice policies can change.
Important information should be confirmed directly with the practice or the relevant insurer, scheduling service, payer, licensing authority, or other responsible organization before you rely on it.
12. Intellectual Property and Permitted Use
Unless otherwise stated, original practice-created website text, branding, graphics, handouts, downloads, and educational materials are owned by or licensed to In Situ Counseling & Coaching, LLC and are protected by applicable intellectual-property law.
You may view and print website material for lawful personal, noncommercial use. You may not reproduce, republish, sell, modify, distribute, scrape, misrepresent, or commercially exploit practice-owned material without permission except where the law permits.
Third-party trademarks, platform assets, photographs, quotations, and linked resources remain the property of their respective owners.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the website and its general educational content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, or uninterrupted availability.
This section applies to use of the public website and general informational content. It does not eliminate professional duties that apply when In Situ has entered into a therapist-client or other professional service relationship.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, In Situ Counseling & Coaching, LLC and its owners, clinicians, employees, and agents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising solely from use of, inability to use, or reliance on the public website, its general educational content, or an unrelated third-party website.
Nothing in this disclaimer waives liability that cannot lawfully be waived, limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited, or alters duties arising from an established professional relationship.
15. Governing Law and Severability
To the extent permitted by law, issues concerning use of this public website are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any provision that is found unenforceable will be limited or severed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
16. Changes to This Disclaimer
In Situ may revise this Website Disclaimer and Terms of Use when website features, services, technology, or legal requirements change. The current version will be posted with an updated effective or last-updated date.
